Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows is Wonderful location - Beautiful experience

From the moment you pull up and step out of your car it becomes obvious that you are someplace special. The friendly guys at the valet stand took care of our bags, and car while we walked into a beautiful open air lobby and we seated at a desk to check in. As part of the check in process you are presented with leis, a cool towel and a glass of tropical juice. At check in the provide you with a resort map and a calendar of all the activities offered.

ROOM: We had on ocean front room on the second floor and it was fantastic, yes, the view is just like the website. You could see some wear and tear on the room, but it was well appointed, extremely comfortable and clean. (I can't wait to see the rooms after the big renovation). One of my favorite things about the rooms at the Mauna Lani are the large lanais. They are very spacious and include a table, two chairs and a lounger. Perfect for relaxing and watching the sun set. Bathroom was a nice size with double vanities and a separate water closet, perfect for the two of us getting ready to go out. They also have a mini fridge which is great for snacks and drinks (you can stock up at the market up the road).

GROUNDS: The best part of the Mauna Lani is the fantastic grounds. You could spend your entire stay here wandering around and enjoying all of the wildlife and beauty. The beach out front has some great snorkeling (swim out past the yellow buoy) and is great for some fun cooling off. I loved the fact that they have complimentary cabana chairs on the beach. We never had to wait for one to open up. They also provide drink and food service on the beach as well. We didn't use the pool (beach was too great), but it looked very nice and also provided plenty of seating.

SERVICE: The service here was great! Everyone we came into contact with was warm and friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I really enjoyed chatting with a gentlemen who worked the valet stand about Ukelele Music. We were here for our anniversary and the management sent a nice card and bottle of sparkling wine to our room the first night and it was a great treat to enjoy as the sun set on our balcony.

ACTIVITIES: The hotel offers great variety of activities. We went on the Hawaiian Cultural tour with Danny and loved it. Learned about the history of the area, the Hawaiian Islands, the fishponds and the petroglyphs.

The Mauna Lani is a terrific place to stay. The service is great but not stuffy in any way. You can be as active or relaxed as you want. We took some great walks on the shoreline trail, snorkeled, enjoyed the sea turtles and beautiful sites. I can't wait to go back!
Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are awesome!
